OUR TEACHERS



Aparna



Lead teacher & director of Yogasaar, Aparna (She/her) has over 30 years of experience in teaching Yoga & Mindfulness Meditation classes, wkshps, retreats and teacher trainings. Her guiding principle is to honor her own truth as well as honor that each person has their own truth and journey with the teachings of yoga & mindfulness. Read more about her HERE.



Doug



Doug (He/him) has completed his 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training with Yogasaar and is enjoying sharing the practice & gift of yoga with others. Doug believes we all need ways to develop peace and calm within and yoga can help us get there. He is thankful for the blessings yoga has brought to him & in his life and is grateful for the wisdom his teachers and fellow practitioners have shared with him. He strongly believes that a journey with yoga can change lives forever!



Tonya



Tonya (she/her) has been an avid yoga student for many years and has a 500hr Yoga training and a 1000hr Mindfulness Meditation training certification with YOGASAAR. For Tonya, Yoga is a wonderful tool to not only increase our strength and flexibility but to awaken a sense of calm, peace and connection with our inner selves. Her goal is help you discover how to make yoga work for you and to share knowledge and understanding of the principles, benefits and joy of yoga!



Tere



Maria “Tere” Minjares (she/ella) is originally from El Paso, Texas (Mescalero Apache, Suma, Piro/Manso/Tiwa Tribe, and Lipan Apache lands) She has completed Yogasaar’s 200hr Yoga Teacher Training certification & is inspired to share yoga practices with people who live or work in sedentary states, or feel yoga is not accessible to them physically. Tere also likes to explore the expansive roots of yoga & its history and is interested in the interconnection between yoga philosophy and Buddha’s teachings.



Nova



Nova lira-Pérez (Nova/they/them) is transgender nonbinary queer birth parent, published writer, movement practice curator, dedicated Buddhist and Yoga practitioner.They began their yoga journey in 2012 as a way to reclaim their relationship with their body after undergoing physical injury. They gently listened to the call for transformation which led them to discover Yoga’s deep roots. They believe that courage, creativity and self-compassion are beautiful invitations to practice Yoga—on and off the mat. Nova affirms that we all have what we need to begin and continue on our yoga journey.



Laine



Laine Suggs (She/Her) is currently working toward her 500 hour RYT certification at Yogasaar. It is her desire to honor the history and roots of Yoga. Her practice is a gentle one, linking breath with movement. Also a student of Ayurveda, Laine is interested in the pathways of health and well-being Yoga and Ayurveda guide us toward.



Jasmine



Jasmine Rodarte (she/her) is a behavioral health coach and advocate who values the therapeutic role of yoga in myriad recovery journeys. She works for a local nonprofit and enjoys sharing access to yoga with marginalized folks in our community. Jasmine completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training through Yogasaar in 2024, and facilitates chair yoga in an inclusive, body positive environment.



Hallee



Hallee Nguyen (she/her) has been a yoga student for many years and completed her 200hr YTT at Yogasaar in 2024. Her intention is to honor the history and roots of Yoga through her practice and teaching. She teaches a level 1 flow with some incorporation of energetic healing modalities as a way to reduce stress and anxiety. Her wish is to provide a safe and accessible space for anyone who seeks to practice yoga.



Summer



Summer Jones (She/Her) is from the Pueblo of Isleta and is a current student at YOGASAAR, completing the 500-hour YTT. Her favorite yoga practices include yin, hatha, and vinyasa. She loves sharing yoga with others as a tool for wellness and healing. You can often find her out in the desert with her dog Rain, walking and practicing yoga in the warm sunshine.



Roberta



Roberta (She/her) has been a lover of rhythmic movement her entire life. After discovering yoga classes with Aparna over 15 yrs ago, her passion to “come home to her body” was re-ignited She completed her 500hr Yoga Training and 1000 hr Mindfulness Meditation training certification at Yogasaar, She is committed to studying and teaching yoga as a life-long endeavor and specializes in personalizing poses using props and modifications.



Jennifer



Jennifer (She/her) completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2025 after being a student for many years. A mechanical engineer, a certified life coach and amateur herbalist she loves to camp, hike, read & travel. Yoga has enriched her life on many different levels & also helped with her meditation practice. Through asana and pranayama, it is her intention to create a space where everyone feels at ease to explore their inner union of mind and body.



Tenaya



Tenaya (any pronouns) has been surrounded by yoga her whole life but only in the last four years have they become a serious student. They completed their 200 hour yoga teacher training at Yogasaar in 2025. They are specifically interested in yoga because of the accessibility of the practice and the confidence and understanding of your own body that comes with the practice. As a queer, neuro-divergent university student they are specifically interested in making their yoga classes open, accessible, and welcoming for all.



OUR CLASSES



LEVEL 1 Flow





This class welcomes beginners and explores the fundamentals of yoga, correct body alignment & breathing techniques. All poses are offered with modifications to suit individual bodies and needs.A blend of Hatha, Vinyasa and yoga therapeutics. Essential teachings for ‘living your yoga’ are shared.




Mixed or All level Flow





This class is designed for the experienced beginner and level I students looking to build their practice , as well as the intermediate student of yoga. Poses are typically held longer and more variations of postures are introduced. A fusion of Hatha ,Vinyasa and Power yoga styles. Begins with an intention and closes with a short guided meditation. Some days Iyenger and restorative elements are added to the class flow.




Advanced or Level 2-3 Flow





This class integrates challenging poses with essential yoga moves to build power, precision, insight and ease. Creative sequencing balances active dynamic movement with longer holding of poses to build both strength and flexibility in the body. Each class focuses on specific areas and issues while toning the system as a whole, giving special attention to alignment and taking care of oneself. Ujjayi breathing, bandhas and pelvic floor exercises work to fortify the core, helping students go deeper into poses and feel sensations that often go unnoticed—a great practice for clearing toxins from the system, centering the mind and energizing the spirit.



Mindfulness Meditation





We live in a time when meditation & mindfulness are becoming widespread teachings us tools for tapping into our capacity for authentic living, stronger relationships, fulfilling work, increased well-being and embracing our lives with loving presence. This class teaches a range of mindfulness practices and practical ways to bring mindfulness into your internal & external environment.  Based in 'Vipassana' also called Insight meditation this class offers an opportunity to practice meditation as taught by Buddha, in which mindful breathing is used to develop both Samatha (a serene and concentrated mind) and Vipassana (Insightful seeing).




Qi Gong Flow/Qi Flow





The term “qigong” is a combination of two words: "qi," which means “subtle breath” or “vital energy,” and "gong," which translates to “skill cultivated through steady practice.” Together, the words describe an age-old TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) practice that harnesses the power of breath, movement, and intention to create health and balance within the body. A mind-body-heart practice that improves mental and physical health by integrating posture, movement, breathing technique, self-massage, sound, and focused intent. DISCOVER a world of ancient inner movement arts that cultivates connection, relaxation, energetic healing & personal power.



Yin Restore





Experience slow, static seated postures held for long periods of time. Open your hips and lower back, realign your skeletal structure and joints while elongating the connective tissue in your body. Derived from the tradition of Tao yoga, this practice will allow a warm, welcoming space for long supported postures and gentle transitions that will work deep into the muscles, fascial networks, and bones. Yin Yoga is ideal for releasing deep tension, relaxing the nervous system, and promoting rest.



Restore/Gentle/Recover Classes





This class is an invitation to an improved relationship with your body and emotions through gentle stretches & attention to the present moment. Offering a nurturing and compassionate approach to healing this class will help ease symptoms of stress & anxiety, nurture your sense of self agency as well as rest & restore your entire being.
 Hit the reset button and leave filled with more spaciousness and presence.



Chair Yoga





This class seeks to allow space for participants to connect with their body, breath, and mind with the support of a chair, other props and modifications. Participants will be asked to wear a face mask and will be invited to practice pranayama (breath exercises/ connections), asanas (poses) and yogic meditation. Ideal for those with limited mobility or physical injury.



Yoga for Addiction Recovery





A welcoming, non-judgmental space for people in all stages of change. This class includes an opening centering practice, breath regulation, mindful movement and time for learning and sharing with others. Receive the support of community combined with practices to help reduce and manage stress and become more comfortable in your own skin.
