APARNA LEVINE
Aparna is the Director & Founder of Yogasaar. Born and raised in India, the land where yoga was born she ignites enthusiasm for yoga in her students by bringing her years of study and practice into her teaching style that embodies the energy and spirit of yoga. Her classes inspire fluid movement while focusing on mindfulness of breath and alignment, compassionate self-awareness and encourage a safe environment in which to explore practice for all levels. She is known for her sensitive, joyful,engaging and determined approach to teaching and extensively leads classes, retreats, workshops and trainings in yoga, ayurveda and meditation all over the world. She is the creator of several yoga dvd's and meditation cd's available on Amazon.
ROBERTA FORESTER
Roberta has been a lover of rhythmic movement and music her entire life. After discovering yoga classes with Aparna over a decade ago, her passion to “come home to her body” was re-ignited and she soon recognized the healing and transformative power of yoga. She completed her 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yogasaar, is Yoga Alliance 500RYT certified, has been teaching yoga for over four years. She is committed - studying and teaching yoga as a life-long endeavor and specializes in personalizing poses using props and modifications. Her goal is to bring a sense of exploration and joy to each class and to empower students to build a strong personal practice.
Kate Hildebrand
Kate has been fascinated with yoga since she was a teenager. When she started formal practice 25 years ago, she studied with a teacher of Iyengar yoga. Since then, she has studied with four additional Hatha yoga teachers, completed Yogasaar’s 200-hour teacher training, and received certification as a senior yoga teacher. Currently, she is studying with Aparna Levine to become a meditation teacher.
Kate’s “Senior Yoga” class reflects her interest in yoga as a path to better health and wellbeing among older adults. The class emphasizes proper alignment and working within individual limitations. In addition to this class, Kate occasionally offers meditation workshops.
TONYA CONKLIN
Tonya has been an avid yoga student for the past 12 years and has a 500 hr Yoga Alliance Teaching certification from a master - Aparna Levine with YOGASAAR . She has experienced and seen in others the power of yoga to bring positive transformation physically and mentally. For Tonya, Yoga is a wonderful tool to not only increase our strength and flexibility but to awaken a sense of calm, peace and connection with our inner selves. Yoga is for everybody no matter your body shape, size, flexibility, gender, or age. Her goal is help you discover how to make yoga work for you and to share knowledge and understanding of the principles, benefits and joy of yoga!
COLLEEN COLYER
Colleen’s path with the study of yoga began casually in her 20’s during a time of self-exploration. More recently she completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training with Yogasaar which solidified her commitment to the continual lifelong study and practice of yoga.With her background in art, massage/energy work and physical therapy Colleen uses experiences with her own injuries and life, and is drawn to alignment focused yoga for safe practice and vinyasa/hatha based yoga for energy flow. She believes that yoga is a path to peace and health in the mind and body; small steps consistently lead to long term lasting benefits, improved mobility and overall happiness.
FARAH NOUSHEEN (she/her)
Farah has worked much of her life for social change in educational institutions, activist communities, media arts, and spiritual spaces. After the fatal election of 2016, Farah founded Yoga for People of Color Sangha to create trauma-informed spaces for communities of color. Farah completed her 300-hour training with Yogasaar in 2020. She has been teaching a weekly yoga class for the New Mexico Asian Family Center since 2018, has taught at UNM and continues to do so at special events. She also consults on yoga, diversity and social justice in a variety of venues. At Yogasaar Farah organizes and teaches at the Friday gatherings.
