THE SHORT



Often described by students as an authentic, delightful and compassionate teacher Aparna leads meditation and yoga classes/ retreats/ intensives /immersions/trainings that are disciplined, challenging, fun, adaptable and creative while inspiring her students to explore their infinite potential, to listen within and to move from their center of truth bringing conscious awareness to every aspect of their practice and life. She is the Director of Yogasaar in ABQ, NM and the creator of several yoga DVD’s and meditation CD’s available on Amazon as well as on our website. THE LONG



Since the age of 12, Aparna’s life has been immersed in the learning, practice and teaching of the movement arts and energy medicine. She has studied under various lineages both in India and in the US, and brings to her classes and workshops a creative integration of knowledge and experience in yogic science and philosophy, the art of energy awakening, Buddhist teachings and practices, bioenergetics, somatics, movement functional anatomy, emotional anatomy as well trauma informed yoga & mindfulness practices. Born and raised in India, the land where yoga was born, she has taught classes and retreats all over the world, recently in Belize, Peru, India, Costa RIca & Bali. For 6 years she taught silent mindfulness meditation retreats at the Bodhi Manda Zen Center in Jemez, NM.


While drawing from many styles and lineages, she relies strongly on her own experience, practice and intuition to inform her teaching. Her own practice and intuition deepen her understanding & experience of the promise of yoga & meditation. The driving force in Aparna's life and breath is her Guru Shirdi Sai Baba.


She is a trained yoga therapist, breath therapist , trauma informed yoga & mindfulness meditation teacher, Ayurvedic consultant & QiGong/Taichi teacher offering private sessions to clients of all ages that want to work on personal goals for their body, mind, heart or spirit. Aparna believes that we are all multi dimensional beings - physical, emotional, intellectual and spritual. No problem or issue that we face or experience occurs in isolation by itself. Any and every goal that we might be inspired to achieve or manifest is a intuitive vision of our entire collective being.​ As such Aparna's outlook to personal sessions is wholistic and she considers this intricate wholeness of each client as she guides and facilitates personal sessions uniquely to each student/client.​Topics of physical/health issues, relief from chronic pain, Ayurveda, life skills, meditation, mindfulness, emotional issues and other personal goals are all addressed in these sessions through an exploration of the entire person using a variety of modalities and the entire spectrum of Aparna's training, study , personal practice and life experience.​


She is the creator of many popular and much loved dvds, available on Amazon including, ‘Yoga therapy for the lower body - lower back, hips and knees and Yoga therapy for the upper body- upper back, shoulders and neck’. She currently has 6 different meditation Cds that are available for purchase thru our website and is the founder and director of YOGASAAR, a yoga, meditation & Qigong school in Albuquerque, NM that offers comprehensive and powerful programs to train yoga teachers, Qi Gong teachers and mindfulness meditation teachers.
